It has been announced that live streaming of sport events in the US through ESPN will soon be available on Xbox live. Old sports content is currently available through Netflix but with ESPN live streaming Xbox look to take their live service to a new level. It is believed that the service will be subscription based just like their TV broadcast and could be a major blow for cable. This is no doubt one of Microsoft’s strategies for prolonging the life of the Xbox 360 and it would probably be safe to assume that we’ll see similar services introduced to the Xbox 360 in the near future.
